What is the Police Department’s Position on Handling the Heroin Problem?

Two positions:
1. Education: Educate the community on the impact of drugs. Educate both youth and parents on signs of drug use/abuse.
2. Enforcement: We are responsible to arrest those selling drugs. Most heroin in our community is from the west side of Chicago. We collaborate with other agencies to shut down the dealers.
